A practical and solid tool, because made of steel, to realize the sowing in clods. An ecological process (no use of plastic pots or plates). Allows to create 4 clods at a time and to work standing up.
How does it work?
The clod press compacts the soil into small cubes, in the center of which, the device creates a small hole, where to deposit the seeds.
The clod press is a very solid tool made of galvanized metal, which makes several clods at a time. There are several models with different clod sizes depending on the plant you want to grow
- 5 clods of 3.8 cm for salad plants and other plants that do not develop much.
- 4 clods of 5 cm for tomato plants, melons, squash and developed plants.
- 1 clod of 10 cm. To be used after a semi in the 4 clod press. Simply insert a clod from the 4 clod press into a 10 cm clod. Allows to start large plants such as squash, pumpkins, etc. ....
- 20 clods of 2 cm. Ideal to save a lot of soil. Indeed, only the mini clods whose seeds will have germinated will be transplanted in clods resulting from the 4 clod press.
The use of the rootball press requires above all a good choice of soil, which must be worked and made moist. Once the potting soil has reached the right consistency (a few drops of water should come out when you press the soil firmly in one hand), you just have to press the device firmly on the potting soil, level the surface by rubbing the bottom of the potting soil press on the bottom of your potting tray. Place the pellet press in the place you have chosen to place the pellets, press the handle while gently lifting the device and your pellets are ready to receive your vegetable seeds, herbs, flowers ... the seeds are then covered with a light layer of potting soil (we recommend the use of a sieve) and deposited in a forcing tunnel, in a greenhouse or in the warmth of a window at home.
It is necessary to water your plantations regularly, preferring a watering by soaking rather than by spraying which would risk breaking the clods.
Once you have finished using the rootball press, we advise you to clean it under a trickle of water before storing it until its next use.
A clever system that allows you to fully preserve the roots by planting the plants with their cubes of soil.
Choose the number of clumps that suits you.
